Custom Commission Guide
Every piece is designed from scratch to fit your specific needs and aesthetic. Whether it is a highly technical standalone piece or a seamless architectural installation, my focus is on heirloom-quality work built to last.
How the Process Works
I use a transparent, step-by-step model to ensure we are on the same page before any sawdust is made.
1. Discovery & Estimate Range
We start with a conversation to identify the Form, Function, and Feel of your project. Based on that discussion, I will provide a transparent estimated price range for your approval.
2. Reservation Deposit
To secure your spot in my production queue, I send an invoice for 50% of the estimated low-end. This locks in your schedule and materials. Current lead times are typically 3–5 months from deposit to delivery.
3. Design & Final Pricing
Once active, we begin the design phase. I create detailed 3D models to refine every proportion and joinery detail. This includes up to three revisions to ensure perfection. Once approved, the final fixed price is confirmed.
4. Production & Balance
I build your piece using traditional joinery and premium materials. The remaining balance is due upon completion, prior to arranging white-glove delivery or crated freight shipping to your location.
“He was courteous, efficient, and gave us a helpful walkthrough on the assembly. The bedframe is beautiful and I look forward to working with Courtney again.”

Typical Investment Ranges
These ranges reflect typical investment levels for fully custom, design-led furniture.
1. Standalone Pieces
$3,000 – $5,000
Focused, high-impact additions to a room. This range typically covers items like small tables, entry benches, or simple writing desks.
2. Room Anchors
$5,000 – $10,000
The centerpiece that defines a space. This range usually includes dining tables, executive desks, or media consoles.
3. Architectural & Complex
$10,000 – $18,000+
Defined by engineering complexity, not just size. This range covers items from intricate credenzas to architectural built-ins.
What Determines the Cost?
During the discovery process, we define your project through three specific lenses:
Form (The Aesthetic) Are we adapting a proven design, or creating a completely novel shape with compound curves? Unique, sculptural forms require extensive design time and prototyping.
Function (The Purpose) Does it require complex joinery, soft-close drawers, hidden compartments, or extension mechanisms? Mechanical complexity and tight tolerances increase the build hours required.
Feel (The Spirit) This is the soul of the project — the emotion the piece evokes when you enter the room. We uncover your story to ensure the result is a physical reflection of your narrative.
